CEC Permitting
ACC – Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC)
The Power Plant Project will be subject to a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility, which would allow for the construction and operation of a behind-the-meter natural gas power plant with up to 400 MW of capacity.
Public meetings will be held for the community to learn about plans for the HEGIC North Generation Station.
Community Meeting #1 (Virtual Public Open House) – May 19, 2026 @ 12 PM and 6 PM
Community Meeting #2 (In-Person Open House) – Thursday, June 25, 2026 @ 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

This event will be an open house format and registration for this event is encouraged but not required. There is no presentation, please attend at your convenience to speak with Project representatives.

The HEGIC - North Project will file for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) with the Arizona Corporation Commission in July/August 2026. The CEC public hearing process begins on September 14, 2026.
Environmental Review and Public Process
The HEGIC North Generation Station will undergo a comprehensive environmental and regulatory review including:
Review by Maricopa County and the Arizona Corporation Commission and other applicable regulatory agencies
Public notice and opportunities for community input
Detailed analysis of air quality, land use, and environmental impacts. Project development and construction activities will be sequenced in alignment with applicable permitting requirements, and the project will comply with all required federal, state, and local regulations
